In recent years, improving the environment of evacuation shelters in the event of a disaster has become a major issue.
In addition to providing a comfortable toilet (Toilet (T)), a hot meal kitchen (K), and a privacy-friendly rest space (Bed (B)), care is also needed for children (Children (C)). Let's increase disaster prevention awareness by experiencing the TKB+C measures.
■Event content
(1) Ceremony
The opening ceremony for this event, which aims to create a disaster prevention culture in urban areas through cooperation between local residents, government, businesses, organizations, and visitors at TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY where the station and the city are integrated, will be held on Friday, November 21st at 10:00 on a special stage in Gateway Park. Members of the event's executive committee, as well as a representative from the Cabinet Office, will take to the stage to cut the ribbon.
(2) Event Corner Details
① Toilets: Display of emergency toilets
We will propose solutions based on toilet problems that have arisen in the past during disasters. We will also introduce how to use portable toilets, which are essential for daily life during evacuation at home and for business continuity, and exhibit products that meet standards for absorption and odor prevention.
Toilet countermeasures require combining multiple types depending on the time period. Actual emergency toilets will be on display, including a simple toilet that automatically seals to prevent infectious diseases, a Western-style toilet with a prefabricated panel that can be securely locked, and even a type that has a water supply tank and wastewater tank next to each other to enable flushing.

② Kitchen: Dining experience in a large tent
In evacuation shelters, separating eating and sleeping areas (separation of eating and sleeping areas) is important for maintaining hygiene and health. For this event, a dining tent will be set up and, with the cooperation of Compass Group Japan Co., Ltd., meals will be provided in preparation for emergencies, using ingredients from TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY employee cafeteria. The meals will be provided on November 21st (Friday) from 11:00, and on the 22nd (Saturday) from 11:00 and 13:30 (limited to 100 meals per session).

③ Bed: Cardboard bed experience
To show the cardboard bed assembly process, we will display the individual parts, the bed in the middle of assembly, and the completed state. You can actually sit on the cardboard bed and assemble it.

4. Child care
We offer a space where children can play safely in the event of a disaster. Specialist childcare staff will be on hand, and a picture book specialist will read picture books to them. Children can play with urethane blocks (soft blocks), origami, drawing supplies, and more.
⑤ TKB Stamp Rally
A TKB stamp rally will be held at stamp stands set up around the venue. Those who collect stamps at all four locations will receive emergency supplies such as instant rice at Gateway Studio on a first-come, first-served basis.
(3) Stage Guests
Along with the meals being served in the dining tent, there will be a stage event where people can learn about toilets (T), kitchens (K), and beds (B) in the event of a disaster. Yasuda and Ami Tokito, the leaders of the Yasuda Circus, will be invited as stage guests to provide an expert explanation on disaster prevention TKB.
